The challenge
The Elevated Gentleman needed a Shopify Plus store that didn't look or behave like a Shopify store. They wanted the editorial weight of a fashion magazine, the conversion machinery of a DTC brand, and the subscription/service model of a styling platform — all in one storefront. Off-the-shelf themes couldn't deliver the typography control, layout flexibility, or the hybrid product/service flows the brand required.
The approach
Built a custom React frontend on top of Shopify Plus, using Shopify's APIs for catalog, cart, and checkout, plus custom APIs for the subscription and styling-service layers. The result is a storefront that reads like an editorial site — Timeless Style features, author bylines, weekly finds — while running full Shopify Plus commerce underneath, supporting both one-time purchases and recurring subscriptions in the same cart.
